The City is committed to providing our community with a safe, efficient sewer system.
The state-of-the-art Waste Water Treatment Plant meets the State requirements for the removal of Nitrates, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, and better sludge handling. The facility has increased the City's capacity to 2.0 MGD, which will meet the City's needs until 2027, based upon a 3% growth factor.
The City has installed a 0.5-megawatt solar park to buffer rising power costs to run the Waste Water Treatment Plan. Using solar power as an energy source, Kerman's taxpayers enjoy approximately a 40% net reduction in the treatment plant's electricity costs.
