Storm Water Management Division

Public Works is responsible for maintaining the City's storm drain system and monitoring stormwater quality. The storm sewer system is an important infrastructure that prevents flooding when it rains. The system works to move water away from an area to a local storm drain basin. It is important to note that the City of Kerman has no receiving water sources such as creeks, rivers, lakes, or canals to which stormwater can be directed. The storm sewer system includes the inlets (storm drains) and gutters on your street as well as pipes and outfalls, where the stormwater enters the Storm Drain Basins.

The City maintains basins that collect runoff water and is in compliance with the State Water Resources Control Board. Do not put contaminants into our storm drains it will cause the contaminants to percolate into the water table. Protecting our drinking water is everyone's responsibility.
