This summer Kerman Parks and Rec is offering an 8 week Tai Chi class at the Kerman Community Community Center starting June 24th. The class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesday from4-5pm. Tai chi is a low-impact, mind-body exercise that originated in China in the 12th century as a martial art for self-defense and combat. It has since evolved into a sport and form of exercise that focuses on health and rehabilitation. Tai chi involves a series of slow, gentle movements, physical postures, controlled breathing, and a meditative state of mind. The goal is to balance and concentrate the body's qi, or vital energy, which can have many physical and mental health benefits. Join certified Tai Chi Instructor, Shannon Barrett twice a week to get the full benefits of Tai Chi.
