Qualifications
Candidate must be a registered voter in the City of Kerman for 30 days prior to filing nomination papers and must live in the City of Kerman.
Election Dates
Regular municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in November of even-numbered years.
General Municipal Elections
During the Municipal Election the City Clerk serves as the Elections Official and is responsible for overseeing the proper application of State Election Code requirements governing the conduct of elections, commencing with the calling of the election by Council resolution, coordination of the candidate nomination process, and concluding with the official canvass and certification of election results.
The City Clerk is also responsible for maintaining all campaign expenditure statements required to be filed by candidates in municipal elections and conflict of interest filings required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).

New Council Members are sworn in and take their seats the first meeting in December.
