You must be:

• A U.S. Citizen
• 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License
• Pass an in-depth background investigation
• Pass medical and psychological examinations and polygraph test
• Be in possession of a P.O.S.T. Basic Academy Certificate

The Police Department does not handle the restraining order process. Our duty is to enforce the restraining orders after they have been issued by the court. To obtain a restraining order contact the Fresno Superior Court.
