Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is made up of 5 members of the community who serve 3-year terms. The role of the Planning Commission is to advise the City Council and to make recommendations on the following planning related matters:

  • Ensure that development within the City is consistent with the goals and objectives of the 2027 General Plan.
  • Review land use entitlement applications such as subdivision maps, parcel maps, and conditional use permits.
  • Recommend updates to regulations, programs and ordinances as required for the systematic implementation of the General Plan.

The City of Kerman encourages community involvement when making decisions which will affect its constituents. Commission and Committee members are Kerman residents who volunteer their time to communicating community needs and concerns to City personnel.

Appointments to the Planning Commission are made in December of each year.
