The Public Works department is responsible for the City wells, distribution lines, water meters, and back-flow prevention systems. We strive to operate a quality water service by providing safe drinking water and excellent customer service at reasonable prices.
The water distribution system is run by a computer program called SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition). This allows the water operators to control and monitor the wells and booster pumps by computer. This also allows the operators the ability to monitor and operate the wells and booster pumps during their off duty hours, by use of a laptop computer.

California Statewide mandated water conservation became effective in August 2014. The City has complied with this mandate by revising the water use including City parks, medians and other outdoor landscape areas. The residence watering schedule has also been revised to comply. Below is the Summer Watering Schedule:
- Odd House Numbers may water on Tuesday and Saturday
- Even House Numbers may water on Wednesday and Sunday
- Water any time on your designated day
Remember no watering from 6:00 am to 8:00 am and from Noon to 7:00 pm every day
Runoff when watering lawns and landscapes that excessive flows onto walkways, roadways, or parking lots.
Solution: Redirect poorly aimed sprinklers; repair broken sprinkler heads; reduce pop-up sprinkler run times to 5 minutes or less and use multiple start times with 1-hour soak in between; replace nozzles with rotating stream nozzles.
Draining and refilling a swimming pool, unless needed for repair or to correct a severe chemical imbalance
Solution: Refrain from draining and refilling pools or decorative ponds and lakes.
