Project Description:

Construction on the Walmart store broke ground in November 2012 and is expected to be completed in August of 2013. The store consists of a 154,648 square foot building including a 5,762 outdoor garden center. Walmart will be situated on approximately 17.18 acres and will feature three out lots totaling 3.03 acres for future retail-commercial development. Walmart expects to hire 300 employees. Location: The project is located on approximately 20.24 acres on the southwest corner of Whitesbridge Road (SR 180) and Goldenrod Avenue.

Approvals: The City Council approved the project by Ordinance 11-01 on April 20, 2011.
