Would you like a friend to talk to who also helps keep you independent?
The Senior Companion Program connects lonely seniors with other seniors who want to share their time, experience, and compassion!
Senior Companions are not caregivers, they are trained companions who can help relieve some caregiver/family member responsibilities, such as running errands, going shopping, reading together, enjoying games, or by just becoming a good friend. Senior Companions serve up to 40 hours a week, completely free to the client, and have a variety of skills to help their client live productive meaningful lives!
If you are interested in connecting with a Senior Companion, please call Jeanna Burdine-Slaven, Senior Services Coordinator at 559-846-9329.
The Senior Services Division is here to serve and assist local seniors. The Senior Center provides activities, events and services such as hot meals, healthy living information, homebound meals for seniors, Classic Crafts class (Thursdays), bingo (Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays), billiards (Monday through Friday), senior trips, computer classes and administers the local food bank.
