Holiday Food and Toy Drive

The Kerman Community Service Organization (KCSO) has set December 19th as the date for its 2014 Holiday Toy and Food Drive. Each year, the KCSO provides assistance, through their Holiday Toy and Food Drive, to approximately 200 families in the community who might not have had the opportunity to share in the spirit of the season. The Holiday Toy and Food Drive give local organizations a unique opportunity to work with the entire community by coordinating resources to meet the needs of disadvantaged families during the holiday season.

The KCSO provides food boxed for families, toys and gifts for children Infants – 18 years of age. The KCSO has made a commitment to provide a wonderful Christmas to all selected family members and children still in school. We can not do it with out your generous community support. To this end, please help with providing gifts for our local children in need, when the Star Tree comes your way or through one of the local toy collection groups.

The “Star Tree” will be circulated throughout the community which will give you an opportunity to select a child. Some of the Star Trees are located at City Hall, Chamber of Commerce and Valley Food. Each star will note the age and gender of a child needing Christmas gift. Gifts should be in the $ 10- $15 range. For those 14 and older games, music, sports items and universal fitting clothes is suggested. The deadline for delivering gifts is Dec. 17th. Gift will be dropped off at the Senior Center 720 S. 8th Street.

This year the KCSO will again be counting on our community to collect all of the toys locally. Last year the community did a fantastic job of supplying toys to all children in need. If you would like to help, but don’t know what to buy call Philip Gallegos or Meg Winchester for suggestions or make cash donation and a KCSO member will buy the gifts.

Monetary donations for the food boxes are still being accepted, payable to the KCSO. Checks should be addressed to KCSO, 720 S. Eight St. Kerman, CA 93630.
