Starbucks Coffee– Starbucks is planning to open in Kerman. They have submitted plans for plan check. The coffee house will be going into outlot #3 in the Walmart Shopping Center. The City anticipates the opening of Starbucks in Spring 2016

Sally’s Beauty Supply – Salley’s Beauty Shop pulled premits for tenant improvements in the vacant sapce next to Panda Express.

Kerman CrossingsKerman Neighborhood Crossing Center – Phase II was approved and will feature 29,000+ sq. ft. of retail space on a 4.5 acre parcel located on the southeast corner of Kline Street and Whitesbridge Road (east of Auto Zone). So far, Jack in the Box and a service station with drive thru car wash are the two businesses planned for the project. A one-year extension was approved in November to complete entitlement issues.

Mid Valley Disposal — 
Mid Valley Disposal (MVD) Expansion Project continues to progress. The plans have been approved, with permits anc construction as the next phase.

MVD is continues to run a pilot program for a covered compost system in their yard.

Building DivHomes in Kerman – Fresno based builder RJ Hill has begun building new single-family homes in the former Pacific Mountain Partners subdivision located on the southwest corner of Whitesbridge Road and Del Norte Avenue. Homes range from 1,600 sq. ft. to 2,100 sq. ft. and prices are in the upper $200,000’s. RM Covington is also building new homes in the Bordeaux I subdivision located on the northeast corner of Siskiyou and California Avenues..GJ Gardner Homes and Crown Construction also building homes in Tract 5478 and selling homes has steadily increased.

Panda Express Opens for Business
– Kerman’s newest sit-down restaurant, Panda Express, is open for business. The building features a new prototypical interior and exterior design with outdoor seating.

Res Guide Front PageResidential Design Guidelines – The City Council adopted design guidelines for new single-family and multi-family residential projects. The intent of the guidelines is to encourage well planned and architecturally diverse projects.

Mural Project
Mural Project Mural Project
– The City Council and Sebastian approved a conceptual artist rendering of the historic Kerman Inn. The mural will be painted on the wall of the building behind the Chamber of Commerce facing the parking lot in front of Sebastian. The site was chosen to pay homage to where the Kerman Inn once stood. Fundraising will begin soon to raise money for the mural.
